More about cookiesCookie policy | Melinda
This page says which cookies melinda.lv sets, what they are for, and how to change your mind at any point.
In effect from 21.08.2026.
1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website leaves in your browser. Next time you open a page the browser hands it back, and the site recognises the same browser. A cookie is not a program: it runs nothing and it cannot read the files on your device.
Some cookies are set by the site itself (first-party), others by external services built into the page (third-party). This site's own cookies are visible only to it; a third-party cookie is visible to the company that set it.
Apart from cookies the site stores nothing in your browser - no localStorage, no sessionStorage.
2. The cookies this site sets
Before you answer the notice exactly one cookie is set: the one that remembers your answer. Everything else in this table appears only after you press "Accept".
| Name | Who sets it | What it does | How long it lasts | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| melinda_cookie_consent | melinda.lv | Remembers whether you accepted or refused the analytics and marketing cookies. Without it the notice would reappear on every page. | 180 days | Necessary |
| melinda_admin | melinda.lv | A session cookie for the private admin area. Only somebody logging in there gets it; an ordinary visitor never does. | Until the browser is closed | Necessary |
| newblockpolicy | melinda.lv | A leftover from the old cookie notice. The site no longer sets or reads it. If it is still in your browser you can safely delete it. | 90 days from when it was set | Legacy |
| _ga | Tells one visitor apart from another. | 2 years | Analytics | |
| _ga_LJR9DE4L69 | Keeps the state of the visit for this site specifically. | 2 years | Analytics | |
| _fbp | Meta | Recognises the browser so that Meta can measure whether an ad led to a booking. | 90 days | Marketing |
| _clck | Microsoft | Stores the Microsoft Clarity visitor identifier. | 1 year | Analytics |
| _clsk | Microsoft | Joins several page views into one session recording. | 1 day | Analytics |
| CLID, ANONCHK, MR, MUID, SM | Microsoft (clarity.ms) | Microsoft sets these on its own domain so it can recognise the browser on other sites too. MUID is also used by Microsoft for advertising. | Decided by Microsoft | Analytics and marketing |
The lifetimes of the third-party cookies are decided by Google, Meta and Microsoft and can change without our involvement. Their current lists are on the Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity pages.
3. Giving, refusing and withdrawing consent
On your first visit the site shows a notice with two buttons. "Accept" switches the analytics and marketing cookies on; "Reject" leaves them off. Refusing is a full answer: the notice goes away just as it does on acceptance, and it does not come back.
You can change your mind at any time, right here:
Your current choice: —
The button reopens the same notice. If JavaScript is switched off in your browser the button is not shown - delete the melinda_cookie_consent cookie in your browser settings instead and the notice will appear again.
Withdrawing consent does not undo what was collected before it. Data already sent to Google, Meta and Microsoft is deleted according to those companies' own rules.
4. Blocking cookies in your browser
You can also limit or forbid cookies in the browser itself, which then applies to every site rather than only this one. The makers' own instructions:
One thing to expect: if you forbid all cookies, the site cannot remember your answer about these cookies either, so the notice will appear every time.
5. The external services and their policies
With your consent the site loads three external tools. Each has its own privacy policy, which says what that company does with the data and how long it keeps it:
- Google Analytics 4 (identifier G-LJR9DE4L69) - visit statistics. Google privacy policy.
- Meta Pixel (identifier 922397839252719) - measuring the results of Facebook and Instagram advertising. Meta privacy policy.
- Microsoft Clarity (identifier v9mj8yt02i) - recordings of mouse movement and clicks on the page. Microsoft privacy statement.
These are companies outside the EU, so part of the data is processed outside the EU/EEA. There is more about that in the privacy policy.
6. Changes to this policy
If the list of cookies changes, this page changes with it, and so does the "in effect from" date. If a new tool that collects data appears, the cookie notice will ask for your consent again.
